The Ancient Art of Painting with Hot Wax

This is not an art form that many people know, yet it has existed since the ancient Greeks.  Encaustic wax is an all natural blend of beeswax and damar tree resin colored with powder pigment or oil paint.  The wax is applied in a melted state and then fused with additional heat onto the surface.  In my studio I teach the application of encaustic wax on fired, unglazed porcelain vases.  Raw porcelain is the perfect canvas for this medium and gives potters a highly creative alternative to traditional glazing.  No previous experience with ceramics or painting necessary. You will learn how to create with amazing texture and color.

Lessons are 90 mins and include all materials and supplies.

Private 1on1 lesson:       $100

Semi-private (2ppl):         $150
