Owner & Resident Artist
Potter + Painter
My entry into the art world came through the door of clay.
I worked in market research for almost 2 decades. Then 6 years ago I decided to leave my career to be a stay at home parent to my 2 young boys. This left me with the need (and time) for a creative outlet and that's when I found clay. I worked for about a year with hand building and sculpture before I sat down at the potter’s wheel to learn the technical art of throwing. That was really when the potter in me was born. Today I throw daily in the studio working mainly with porcelain clay.
I am also a painter using my wheel thrown porcelain vessels as the canvas. I paint with encaustic wax. Fired, unglazed porcelain is the perfect canvas for this medium.
The Studio Dogs
Lucy, Bella & Apollo the Pug
While they aren't allowed to roam around inside the studio they happily stand guard outside just in case someone might want to give them a little cuddle.
